Very charmingly done, and I'm glad you're not romanticizing your sadness like every goth band in the 80s. A little grammar advice though: you're using apostrophes wrong. 's turns something into a contraction--it's is "it is" while its with no apostrophe is possessive, i.e. "its destruction was massive". I wouldn't correct you just to be a dick, but I feel like having better writing is helpful when making any kind of art.

fair. my writing skills have diminished greatly

I agree with what another reviewer said, all the little individual animations more or less are great, but the whole thing seems like it could've been put together a lot better. For one, there's no scene select, which you really should have for an almost hour long video. And then there's the fact that the last 10 to 15 minutes or so is just a pop team epic collab inside the Toonami collab? It seems very uneven and kind of like it's "hogging the spotlight".

Usually with these kinds of collabs if someone doesn't like one of the shorts it's fine because they're so…short. But here if you aren't a pop team epic fan, or if you just don't want to watch an extended animated tribute to it in what you thought was an animated tribute to Toonami in general, like I sort of didn't, then you're out of luck.

VoicesByCorey responds:

From my understanding, we had members who were going to help orchestrate a scene select menu, but it fell through unfortunately. It was a feature we were looking to have <3

Got some pretty unique imagery and ideas here, and I feel like that's always something horror needs more of. In particular the part where all the blood is drawn up towards the ceiling is very strange and chilling. Great art and color work too!

ClockworkPixel responds:

Thanks!

The perfect thing to watch right before bed, lol. Love to see different stuff like this. Really neat, unique aesthetic and pretty damn unsettling without relying too much on established horror tropes. Good stuff!

BoredKid responds:

Thanks I appreciate it.

I love your style man, and the animation is nice as well. It's slightly choppy, but maybe that's intentional? Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Butzbo responds:

Yeah in general I kept the animation a biit more limited than what it could've been, mostly to focus more on the whole sequence with its variety of dog designs.
Thanks Octopus!

In response to what one of the commentors said, like, literally thousands of people at least? Anyone who either is an animator, an inspiring animator or is just passionate about the art form? Many, many people care about unconnected animations, including myself.

As for YOUR unconnected animations Tom, they're fucking beautiful. :P I love your art style and the animations themselves are both very fluid and are nicely telegraphed/readable, hitting a lot of the main principles of animation. Can't wait to see what else you do with em, would love to see your work in a game someday if that isn't already a thing.

TommeyPinkiemonkey responds:

Cheers, mate! Really appreciated. Maybe we'll end up seeing my work in full display at some point, who knows? It's certainly a fact that me and my friends have got plenty of plans, but when exactly those plans will come to fruition... well, hopefully sooner than later!

Wow, this was cool! It gave me real Windwaker vibes, what with the tapestry intro, the magical clothing passed down from the mom to the daughter and even the music. Your design for the evil god was really cool too, reminded me of some Ghibli type stuff. It's nice to see animation from other countries/cultures other than the US and Japan, and it's a shame that we don't get to see more of that on TV or in theaters. For what it's worth, this felt like a pilot to what I could very easily see becoming a long running series. I think it's definitely worthy of that, but I'll have to check out your webcomic too. Just hope that doesn't mean you're gonna stop making animation.

Shi-Gu responds:

Thanks a lot!
Indeed, I gotta admit Windwaker was a big inspiration for this.
I'm really glad you liked it and also to see interest in other cultures.
Back in the day I had the impression that people in NG did reject anything that were not in english, so I was pretty nervous when uploading this here.
Glad to see such a positive responce.
I won't stop doing animation, I'll try to have some animated parts in the webcomic as well. It's just that it takes so much time to do, so I often don't get to do as much as I would like to.

While I've got enough of a sense of humor to appreciate a good prank, the one downside is that there is no ACTUAL collab to see. And as a guy with a renewed appreciation for Halloween recently, that does make me just a little bit sad. Nicely done, though. I definitely didn't see it coming.

BoobMarley responds:

Trying to lift spirits here, bub.

The art style didn't appeal to me, though I could tell it was well animated, it seemed to be attempting to ape Egoraptor--the close up of the main characters is a perfect example. The tone was odd, couldn't really tell if it was supposed to be serious or funny, because there were a few jokes, but then it just jumped into this really forced fight scene that played out like a really old character v. character flash on this site, complete with generic dubstep soundtrack.

Then there's a character death at the end without a punchline in sight. Is this the end of this story? Will there be a continuation? It isn't clear. The highlight is definitely the voice acting, which is top notch, and surprisingly not just on RP's account.

Twisted4000 responds:

I've drawn in this style for years and it is attrocious, I know, but no, I didn't attempt to ripoff Egoraptor. And the plot is in no way supposed to be serious at all, and it is in fact the end, but it looks like what I was going for worked... it's all confusing! :E

The venting was pretty transparent, but then again you probably don't care. I felt your anger, but I didn't laugh all that much. On the other hand, your animation/art style is pretty unique.

LittleLuckyLink responds:

Hell I actually recorded this so long ago that I can barely even do the voice anymore.

I write a variety of stuff, short stories, raps, other things. And now I'm arting a lil bit.
